The principal gateways for entry to Indonesia are Jakarta and Denpasar, Bali. Jakarta is serviced by more airlines.                                   There are also International flights from neighboring countries to various cities, such as Medan, Padang, Pakanbaru, Batam, Pontianak, Balikpapan, Solo, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Makassar, Manado.

Train travel in Indonesia is restricted solely in Java and few in Sumatra. Briefly, there is a pretty good railway service running from one end of Java to the other - in the east connects with the ferry to Bali, and in the west with the ferry to Sumatra.

There are a few lines tacked down in Sumatra, particularly in north, west and South Sumatra. There are no railways on any of the other islands.
